About the company
A growing Hungarian bank, already holding a significant share of the banking market, processes millions of transactions daily and primarily offers banking services to corporate clients.
The Challenge
Although the company had firmly established itself in the Hungarian banking market, they recognized the need for change. They saw a significant opportunity in serving individual customers.
However, like many other banks attempting to innovate, they faced the challenge of operating on outdated systems. Their operations relied on old COBOL applications, which were extremely difficult to modify and adapt to their evolving business needs.
Solution
The client identified Apache Fineract as a potential replacement for their outdated and difficult-to-maintain Core Banking System (CBS) but lacked the necessary expertise.
After spending some time attempting to run it in-house, they soon realized the complexity involved. That's when they turned to us for assistance.
At this point, they were still in the early stages of adoption and wanted to evaluate whether Apache Fineract could handle most of their use cases. To do this, they needed a functioning Apache Fineract instance as a demo application, complete with the relevant UI.
Since the client was already late in their selection process, they required a demo instance of Apache Fineract as quickly as possible to begin testing and evaluation.
Results
Within just a few days, the demo Apache Fineract environment, complete with the corresponding UI, was successfully deployed and handed over to the client.
The demo deployment was used over several months for multiple evaluation phases. A key benefit for the client was that they didn’t have to invest time or resources into understanding Apache Fineract’s deployment process, workflows, or building their own infrastructure. Instead, they received a fully managed Apache Fineract solution running in the cloud.
